Tuesday

Dear Orange,

Today is the last day of September! Reminds us of the song "Wake me up when Sepember Ends" by Green Day. I like the soothing rythm of this song, as well as the lyrics.

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we areas my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
ring out the bells againlike we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are
as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

Well well, yesterday night watched Mama mia at cineleisure with Ross, Sheryl, Waner, Ying, lim, WQ,CK, Yuexi , Zifang and Edwin. Met some other nj ppl in the cinema also.

The movie THE MOVIE!! WAS SUPERB!!! I love the songs, their voices, the island they live on and most of all their life! Haha..the whole movie was humorous.

It began with this pair of mother and daughter living on an island isolated from the city. Then one day Sophie( e daughter) is getting married and she decided to use this opportunity to find out who her father is. After reading the diary her mother kept while she was pregnant with her, Sophie discovered that she has 3 possible fathers. Hence she sent wedding invitations to the three men, Sam, Bill and Henry using her mother's name.

Thus, these 3 men arrived at the island at the same time. And the day before Sophie's wedding, all 3 of them volunteered to give her a walk down the aisle on the wedding day, each thinking that they were her father, but none of them knew that the other 2 men also came to the island for the same purpose.

It was quite funny, a girl searching for her dad ends up in such a mess.

So it ended with Sophie's mother walking her down the aisle, BUT BUT, in the end her mother became the bride and Sophie went off with her boyfriend to explore the outside world.

And guess who's the father? Its SAM! And it was super sweet. At that time when Sam was with Donny(e mother), he was already engaged. So he went back, leaving Donny at the island. Later, he divorced and returned to the island in search of Donny, but heard that she has already went off with another man. And he waited 21 years! 21 years for Donny!! It was like a big happy reunion!=D

Okay, so so..my after thoughts..

I feel that the whole storyline is quite original. Its both hilarious and touching. And all the singing and dancing were very entertaining, especially the parts when Donny's 2 friends sang to liften up her mood=)

I wonder why these women have so much energy to dance and jump about and they behave totally like young girls! Perharps this is life in the countryside, people don't grow old so fast from stress .Unlike us city dwellers, it is our fate to lose our youth and vitality before the age of 40. How i wish i live in their island! They have crystal blue waters, pure, white sand, they swim whenever they want in the big sea, they climb onto roofs, they have attics, they live in wooden houses...

Oh man! They lead such happy and carefree lives. I like the part where all the women on the island put away their daily household chores to join Donny and her band, dancing and singing to the song "Dancing Queen" by abba. Judging by their wide satisfied smiles and their joyful jumps, I can sense their happiness. How i wish my neighbours and i can do that too!=P

Finally, i like the part where Donny helped Sophie dress up for the wedding. There is a scene where both of them were sitting together on an armchair and Donny was helping Sophie trim her toenails, perharps for the last time. And the proximity of the mother and daughter, their closeness is so heartwarming, i wanted to cry. How i wish i can be like them. But we urbanites don't express our love so explicitly. I love my parents but I have felt nothing so strong before. Sighs. Maybe I am more suited to be a farmer in the countryside. That way i'll be closer to nature, running through forests everyday, catching fishes, watering the crops, lying down on the wild grasses, gazing at the blue sky, picking little berries on my way home...

Hahah..that is a wild dream man! Its a fantasy!=D

Okay, so as to conclude, MAMA MIA ROCKS MY SOCKS!=D

Now back to reality, today i had PW meeting at KAP. Ate Mcgirdles for breakfast. Meeting was rather effective. We finished in 2hrs. Yays! We rawk!=) Then went beauty world buy red cloth for curtains. Then i went home first coz i was too tired.

And here i am! Looking forward to tmr=)

Okay i gtg Orange, don't miss me too much okay!=)

Tada!! MY ART BIENNALE EXPERIENCE. HAVE YOU GOT YOURS?

Brief introduction to the South Beach exhibition site, vandalised walls in the canteen and tatched roofs.

This is my personal favourite. The whole story goes like this. One day, this cresent befalls on the roof of a man's house. Then the responsible man started taking care of it, feeding it apples, carrying it across the bridge, rowing it in a boat to cross a river..
I think its super sweet! btw, not all the photos are here..i chose my favourite ones.=P

This is also another piece that i like. The story goes like this. One day, Jiamin decided to open up her own hair saloon. Her friends came for a haircut and found out that there are no mirrors on one side of the wall and decided to crawl through. Okay i dunno how to continue.. btw, its really cool!

This piece is called "REFLECTIONS". It actually has 2 identical saloons side by side. But the wall that connects the two don't have mirrors at all. This illusion is caused by a reflection of the two rows of mirror at the further end of both rooms. OMG WHAT A COOL CONCEPT!!
From left to right, the first one consists of many boxes of belongings, full of books, softoys, cans, clothes, which is built up into 4 walls and within these four walls is a small room with no shelter. This artpiece is trying to show the llife of philippines immigrants, who work overseas to send money and such necessities back to their families for them to build their homes.
Can u spot me? I am in the second photo!

From left to right, the first one is called "breathing space". Its just a vacant room with four plain white walls. The second one!!! It shows a photo of a landslide and an overturned car. Guess what, all of them are made up of food!! The trees are made from vegetables. COOL!! The one on the extreme right is the famous "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST". Can you spot them?=D

Hey Orange,

Yesterday i went to south beach building to volunteer as an exhibition site officer for the art Biennale festival. It was my first time there so spent quite some time familiarising with the surroundings. I was in charge of this exhibit entitled "Tuning fork of the mind" located at Blk 1. The lighting in the room was dim and there was one pathetic air conditioner in the corner which did not really serve its purpose since only that particular corner is cool. Hai..the whole place was super hot and stuffy coz theres no air-con plus the weather was ultra humid. We were all sweating like mad! But its not that bad..coz there are lots of intricate artefacts with interesting concepts that really kept me going.
There are actually 3 major sites for this year's festival. The south beach one represents art in the past. The ones at city hall and marina bay are the more contemporary, modern ones. I hope i'll be posted there next time! Coz theres air-con!
Okay back to the south beach site. It was once a military camp base but now no longer in use. And guess what..its called beach road because the current beach road was previously a beach! So suntec city stands on reclaimed land! Pardon me for my ignorance..coz i really didn't know that part of the city centre is reclaimed! But anyway its rather cool to be in an old army camp. There are 3 main buildings in total and one large parade square, probably where thousands of NS men were once marching on. The buildings are very dilapitated and the floors of the rooms are full of cracks and dirt. The walls are a dirty grey, some freshly painted black to fit the themes of certain exhibits. I like the windows best. It is not like the windows installed in our households today, secured with grills and glass panels. Their windows are the older types. You just push it open and you get in touch with the outside world.

The exhibit i was in charge of had lots of interesting case studies, experimental results and videos on the study of the human brain. But what the artist wanted to convey was that not every scientific findings are true. Many theories have been deemed wrong and new theories are conjectured. I agree=) The room opposite is eerie. It screened a video of a shaman(like priests) conducting a spiritual ritual. The old lady made scary noises! One moment she was breathing heavily, then she started screaming and crying. Throughout my whole 5 hours there I could hear her! Initially i really freaked out but slowly got used to it. Towards the end i nearly feel asleep!

The number of visitors was pathetic although its a sunday. Coz everyone is busy preparing for F1.I met this very knowledgable lady and before i can start explaining the art pieces to her, she was already saying," Oh this artist. She is based in Singapore. That explains why this exhibit is so detailed, because its a lot more convenient than other artists from overseas who have to ship everything over." I was like stunned. Okay.. so i decided to keep my mouth shut and learn from her. The people i met were quite humorous, so i had a rather enjoyable time both talking to and learning from them!=D

At around 4pm, my duty has ended, so went downstairs to meet Jianqing and Ye Wu. ahha.. the ppl at the customer relations counter are quite funny too. So today i got to know a few people. Melissa from NP, really can make me laugh my pants off ahah! Then theres the people in charge of the exhibition site, mostly from TP. Very friendly and had a nice time chatting=)

Finally theres our tour guide who brought us around the whole place after our duty ended. He's very knowledgable and billingual. Thank you although i dont know your name! ahah i had a memorable tour!

Oh i forgot to mention that we all got 12 bucks as reimbursement fees for our transport and lunch and still have CIP hours! Although this whole day have left me dead tired, i think it has been worth my time!

Bade goodbye and went off to Ah gong's house. WootS! Daddy cooked delicious crab, prawns and meat. YUM! I had a sumptous dinner! Then i taught my noisy cousin maths. Ok la, Xinying, you can do it de, as long as you're not lazy. Must get higher than me for PSLE! And okay..and my two other irritating cousins kept disturbing us. Okay..nvm..
Got home at 10plus. Then chat with Erning on the phone. Then fell asleep.

lots of love,
cJiaM

Dear Orange,

I met up with Jianqing and Linyan juz now! It has been ages since the three of us got together!=) Went lot1 cinema watched Painted Skin. The show was great! It is about this fox spirit gorging out human hearts to feed on so that she can stay in human form. Qi Yi Wu acted in that movie as a flyeater! He's super funny! Oh Vicky and Zhouxun are gorgeous! Oh! And the ultimate scary part was when the foxspirit removed the human mask from her head. She was pulling her skin all the way up..then underneath were millions of long fat brown worms. OMG! I was super disgusted! The ending was quite tragic=(

So i conclude that this movie would suit very emotional ppl like me=) Its a mixture of bitter, sweet and sour hah!

After movie, we shopped around and saw lots of nice dramas in the CD shops! Okay! I wanna watch! Someday.

7pm

Met up with mum for dinner. Then went home, taught di physics. Hai he's super block head leh how? Dunno how to teach him! Nevermind i'll try my best=)

Its friday!!

Rainy

Dearest Orange,

I had a really fun day yesterday!=) Met up with Jam and Yuexi at fareast to shop. Woots! Lots of pretty pretty dresses and earrings! Oh and i bought a new jacket!=) I like it! My sis says that its a hoody..haha whatever it is. I like the shop assistant too! Very friendly and cheerful..not like most of the shop owners in far east..all super hostile..i wonder who will buy from them!

At 4pm we went for lunch at Takashimaya. I ate a lot coz i was starving!! The food there is really worth buying! Must try the steaming hot yam cake and carrot cake with chilli paste!=) After that Yuexi went Mos Burger to buy vanilla milkshake! Haha..I had a hard time trying to suck the thick and creamy vanilla up..but its very rich and filling!

5.30pm

Sheryl, Zi fang, Weiqiang and Edwin finished their last lit paper and came to join us! YAYS! We went to Kinokuniya to buy the book Sheryl wanted,"Twilight". Sounds cool right? It is about this girl falling in love with a vampire. Oh! All the little books, note pads and organisers at Kino are lovely!! I'll buy them when i am rich enough haha.

Its dinner time!

We met up with Ross and Waner outside Swensons. Hahah!!!! Ross is the blurrest sotong I have ever seen!! She left her EZ-link card at the examination venue and the card is right on her table! How can she ever miss it?! Ross! Stop living in your own world! Hahha..sry i think its v funny=P

Anyway, this is the first time in my 16 years of my life I've ever stepped into Swensons! Oh man! I am such a noob! But the atmosphere inside is very conducive for sleeping. The lights are dim, then with the air con, and the comfortable tables and chairs.. I like the ceiling best of all. Its blue! Like you know underwater world(i've never been there before too) its like a little fantasy island! Haha nevermind my suaku-ness! Btw, we were making alot of noise talking at the top of our voices and with Sheryl's super high pitch voice i think the whole restaurant was full of our laughters! I guess its post-exam high-ness. It is a good way to release the stress that have been bottled up within our souls for the past a month!

Okay..now the icecream in Swensons! Oh my! This is the first time i ate such big, fat and long cup of icecream! And there's a super long spoon about the height of a 15-cm ruler that goes with the tall cup of icecream!! Yum yum!! and the cookies and cream icecream is delicious! But I like the other one with nicely sliced bananas inside. I love bananas! Maybe i should be a monkey at bukit timah nature reserve=D. Okay.. i didn't know that eating ice cream can be so filling! My stomach have definitely reached its optimum capacity man!

After dinner, we went back to far east again. Hahha..bought Edwyna's birthday present. Then went home...coz we were all tired.

And guess what?!! There's no water supply at home!! Whats wrong with PUB man! Nevermind.

The nicole show cheered me up! But i am super sad..today's the last episode=(( I will miss Nicole's laughter!

Well well..its the sky is tearing up again after yesterday's warm and sunny weather =( Hope the sun comes out soon coz i am going out later!=D A bright sky suits you too right, Orange?=) Okay lets pray for the rain to stop soon!

According to the dictionary, "leprechaun" means an imaginary creature in the form of a little old man. And a fairytale in the children's section says these tiny men can lead us to a pot of gold!

Isn't this cool?! Maybe they really exist. If they do, the world will be rich man!

Hey diary,
konichiwa! This is my first time writing to you isn't it? Promotional exams are over!! I super high! Its time to dump the 0.5m stack of notes away and start playing!=))

Orange=sunshine=cheerful, as simple as that. I want you to be a happy blog!=)
