Dear Orange,

I would like to share with you a book that someone lent to me:) Its titled, " Peaks And Valleys" by Spencer Johnson M.D.
Below's a brief summary:
Life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it. It is natural for everyone everywhere to have peaks and valleys at work and life, and these peaks and valleys do not only represent what external ups and downs u face in life, but more importantly, how you feel inside and respond to outside events. The old man in the book said, "How you feel depends largely on how you view your situation. The key is to seperate what happens to you from how good and valuable you feel as a person."

If we realise, the peaks and valleys in our lives are connected! The errors you make in Today's good times create tomorrow's bad times. And the wise things you do in today's bad times create tomorrow's good times. Even if one reaches the peak of his of her life, it doesnt mean that the person will stay up there forever. THis is because as human beings, we have too many desires to be fufilled, and many people fail to manage their good times, wasting too mny resources and getting away from the basics. That is when we create our own bad times again.

"Peaks are moments when you appreciate what you have, and valleys are moments when you long for what is missing."In life, even when sometimes we have reached our goals, we are still very unsatisfied with what we get when we compare ourselves to someone greater. So if you want fewer valleys, avoid comparisons. If you enjoy what's good about the moment, you feel more like you are on a peak:)
Remember, you cannot always control external events, but you can always control you personal peaks and valleys by what you believe and what you do!
"THe Path out of the valley appears when you choose to see thigns differently."

I like this: " You change your valley into a peak when you find and use the good that is hidden in the bad time." If you do not learn in a valley, you can become bitter. If you trul learn somthing valuable, you can become better.

ALso, sometimes in life,we may come upon a stage whereby everything is peaceful and smoothsailing with no challenges at all. This we what we call a plateau. A plateau can be a time for us to rest, reflect and renew.

p.s this post is supposed to be longer but wait till i can accept whatever i typed first b4 i publish:)

love, cjiam
