~Beautiful fragments of my life~

Dearest Orange,

This post shall be one for us to learn and reboot ourselves k! Quotes keep me going, what about u?:D

I personally define quotes as strings of powerful words that is motivational and often a constant reminder of the simplest logic in life that we fail to see or understand in times of distress.
I am not one who open up myself easily to share with others my problems although i do love to share with others my joy. I know this is not a good thing, but well, when i am feeling low, I'll just google and read some quotes. YEA MAN.
They tell me how awesome my life is and that despite the many small waves that keep pushing me offshore, if I dont give up, i'll definitely be able to swim back to land. Heehee simple analogy right?

Yep thats the key, think simple, be satisfied. Thats my life motto:) Just like my dad, happy go lucky, but still happy right? Some may say that such an aimless life without major goals to work towards is meaningless. HOwever its not that we dont work towards anything, just that the things that we want are within our reach, not always within our comfort zone, but something that easily satisfies. Like, a simple meal together as a family, a chit chat with an old friend, being someone whom people will feel comfortable to confide in, and even extending a helping hand to a stranger. These may sound obiang, but i feel that a lot of people nowadays are too ambitious and thirsty for achievements that they lose themselves, and neglect the important people and things around them.
Dont get me wrong, i am not encouraging people to give up on their dreams, and just sit back and relax and be satisfied with life. The main point is not to compare yourself too often with someone greater as u'll end up feeling miserable. No big apartment to live in, no family car, never take aeroplane before? Its alright, count your blessings and not count other people's.
Being satisfied, other than referring to the the current moment, alot of this satisfaction is also derived from fragments of the past. Memories play an important part of my life:) Although i wish moments like those never went away, we all know that time never stop for us. That is when i'll think of this quote:
"Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened." :)

So keep running! Chase for more wonderful and unforgetful moments to share with significant people in your life:D

Love,
Joy

Dear Orange,
I realised that i missed out the whole part about my sunway lagoon trip with beloved Erning,Linyan and Jianqing. And also the steamboat dinner at my house together with Sohhwee. Basically, it was a great time spent on catching up and having fun:) The best thing about sunway lagoon is the water slides. Really:D

Anyway, last Saturday, Jeffrey treated us to a buffet dinner at Pan Pacific Hotel's Global Kitchen to celebrate Karen's birthday. Its damn cool! The whole place is really pretty and the dessert is the main highlight of the buffet:D
Ok should show you some pretty pictures, and because I realised those from my previous posts are really small, heres some bigger photos.

I can never resist the temptations of cakes and puddings!

This is my first time eating fondue!! With marshmellows and strawberry:D It was so fun preparing it!

Other than the food, I musnt forget the toilet HAHA

And the elegant interior of the hotel, as well as the bling bling lift

Finally, 2 of artworks that i like.

Hahah this whole post is full of me fantasizing about the hotel. Well, although the dinner seemed quite a joyous occassion on the surface, in fact many unhappy and dramatic things have happened at my work place recently. Really let me see through the ugly nature of human beings, and also the good side of the supposedly "bad guy". Hope things will settle down soon!

Anyway, I'm starting to dance again! YAY YAY will be performing for Raffles Hall rag day. WOOHOO. Have practice later!! So tired after QET test and shopping for gift box!

Hmm i have alot of other things I want to say but am unable to summarise effectively now, so i'll leave it for the next post:)

Love,
JOY

Dearest Orange!
Odac'10 was AWESOME! The best camp ever! HAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA:DD I encountered alot of first times within this 5days 4 nights. First time meeting people in nus, first time sleeping in tents, first time experiencing tent floods, first time sleeping under the stars at west coast park, first time night cycling and dragon boating! First time eating cheese prata with the least amount of cheese, first time climbing mountain, first time cooking maggimee with sardines using masstins(actually i ate more than i cook), first time experiencing a blackout in malaysia, first time using the most destructive army insect repellant, first time having campfire without fire, first time walking back to nus from hortpark at the most unearthly hour.

WOW i cannot believe i made it alive man! But all thanks to my friends from coffeetiam, and also the seniors and other campmates, everyone encouraging each other along, and helping each other out:) When i realise my own torch light is so lousy that i cannot see clearly at night, there's always a powerful torch guiding our way through. Our most frequented games throughout the camp was "Polar Bear" and "chuckie chuckie"! HAHA Damn funn!! We also had HTHT(heart to heart talk) together with the guys which failed, as we practically end up talking about eating the grossest food on earth. But the one with the girls was okay:)

My best buddy in camp's HanHan! We click super well together HAHA, so well that the others thought we are old friends:) We sang, cheered and got really high together hehe! Shes really funny though, claims that she is traditional but behave totally the opposite:D

me and hanhan

One of our Gl, xiuling surprisingly share the same interest as me! That is for wildlife and the environment, and she was present during the wear i co-organised envirofest! She's a really loud and fun friend to be with!:D
Coincidentally, i also met my RVDS senior Qian Ning and her sis, Qian Wei in coffetiam! HAHA they are really a great pair of sister, both physically strong:)
Then theres Natasha and Angela toO!!! Both pair of Natasha's shoes were spoilt during the camp haha really very suay. And Angela has the amazing skill of stuffing alot alot alot of marshmellows in her mouth!!!!!!

Then our group's guys,
Most importantly, uncle leonard whos the one who opened coffeetiam! His hobby is drinking coffee at coffeetiams with his friend. His favourite phrases are, "I dont know" and "Good good". HAhah although a lot of times we ask him about the itinery and stuff he'll say "I dont know," but we really feel that he is a great listener and entertainer:D
The second best entertainer is Andy! HAHAHAHAHA i can still laugh at his "shaggy dog" story up till now:D And he really is at risk of getting breast cancer coz he always am chio!
Then we have our 2 best buddies Gurgan and Jiayang. When i want to know about the soccer scores, i'll go to them. Their favourite qn is traffic light=.=
Finally, our parents! Hakeem daddy and Yan shun mummy hahah! They did gay dance for the Miss Oac 2010 contest:D They really make a good pair la. Cannot play polar bear with Hakeem coz hes always very deceiving. And Yanshun is my rv plus NJ senior!! After his guidance during mountain climbing, I feel confident that I can conquer mountains in the future!
A few grp shots:

Okay now a preview of the whole camp!:D

Started off with a small race around the school, these were some of the tasks we had to complete:)

Then we reached ECP and pitched our tents before sitting at the breakwaters to eat chicken rice for dinner.

Then off to night cycling! From 9plus all the way to 4plus in the morning:D

6plus am.This is in a shelter at ECP when the storm came haha we all evacuated from our tents one by one, barely slept!!!:( But really fun holding that blue sheet up tgth to block off the rain.

Day 2 dragon boating, cannot believe we can be so strong!

The morning after waking up at WCP, outside the MACs

We travelled in this sauna bus to Gunung Lambak upon reaching Johor.

We pitched our tents in this "jungle" and were practically feeding mosquitoes while doing so:( That's where all of Andy's ointment and repellant came in really useful! Thanks man:DD

We attempted climbing the first time, but unfortunately, convectional rain!:( So stopped not even halfway for nearly 1 hr at this shelter. Haaha but the rain never fail to dampen our mood! We continued playing polar bear and "Have you ever?":DD

See! It flooded again after the rain, so we moved our tents to the carpark, then started cooking. And unfortunately, the second thunderstorm came and this time, we fled to the big hall near the resort. Guess what, it doesnt end here. Then came the blackout. even the guys got a shock. Nevertheless, we kept each other company, continued chatting and playing games:) The guys even sang army songs haha NICE

And the following day, we finally succeded on climbing up to the summit!!! YAY! The scenery's great! I felt like i was floating on the clouds heehee. The descent was tricky and challenging, but I really enjoyed it! So cool:D Our teamwork really pulled off:) The guys did a great job to guide and save us girls! YAY GO COFFETIAM

Then it was finally back to NUS. This is our campfire night, we had it at the Henderson waves:) The seniors made the hottest and warmest campfire I've ever had! Those shots was that of our group item. HAHA really cui. We had a skid, then danced sorry sorry.

See! THis is the highlight of the night! Miss Oac contest:D Yan de bu nana, Mary and Esther hahaha

Hahah our group's heroine! WOOHOOOO

Last but not least, Goddess and Uncle Leonard, our dearest GL. Must really thank Goddess for looking out for me during night cycling:D

Uncle Leonard: Lim ah Lim ah Lim!

WoW this must have been the longest post ever. My hand is aching now! I'll always remember OAC'10:) Its a great success, thanks to all the wonderful people!

love, Joy
